Job Details
Menzies LLP are looking for a talented and ambitious IFRS professional to join our specialist IFRS team.
This is a crucial role for the Firm driven by the growth opportunities for IFRS transition and advisory service within the Firms vast current client portfolio.
This is an excellent opportunity to grow a specialist IFRS team and have a major input in the shape and direction of the service line.
You can expect full support and guidance and excellent long term career opportunities. In time the successful candidate could take over as lead of the IFRS team.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- To take a lead in driving the IFRS team forward, being a firm expert on IFRS and expanding the service line
- To oversee accounts preparation work for IFRS clients
- To grow the level of IFRS advisory work being undertaken in areas such as IFRS transitions and ad hoc client projects
- To act as the day-to-day manager point of contact for IFRS advisory opportunities, both managing a portfolio of clients and being an expert for others to call on for their clients
- Being responsible for varied client work, ensuring that all jobs are effectively managed, including planning, WIP management and billing.
- To assist with internal training as required (alongside the central technical team)
- To maintain a high level of technical knowledge through appropriate CPD
- Development and supervision of more junior members of the IFRS team
- Business development activities (in conjunction with line managers and the marketing team) to promote the service line and win new IFRS work
The Person:
- ACA / ACCA / CA qualified accountant (ICAEW, ICAS, Irish Institute or equivalent international qualification)
- Strong IFRS knowledge and experience
- Experience with IFRS transition accounting, both numerically analysing client figures under UK GAAP and IFRS, and assisting with the preparation of transition financial statements
- Experience assisting and advising clients with IFRS calculations and disclosures in specific areas such as leasing, income recognition and financial instruments
- Minimum two years of experience as a manager
- Ability to demonstrate commerciality and value add
- Strong communication skills with senior staff and clients
- Approachable for more junior members of staff and able to build trust with the wider team and clients. Positive and has a can-do attitude
- Takes responsibility for the completion of assignments, and tasks delegated to them, thinking creatively to improve performance and efficiency.
- CaseWare knowledge desirable
- Motivated to take responsibility for the role and maintain a high level of quality service across the IFRS Team
- Experience of preparing accounts in accordance with IFRS
- Experience assisting and advising clients with IFRS calculations and disclosures in specific areas such as leasing, income recognition and financial instruments
