Management Accountant

Hays Accountancy & Finance are partnering with a well-established and interesting Group based in Ross-On-Wye, Herefordshire to recruit a dynamic and hands-on Management Accountant. Offering remote/office hybrid working, this permanent accounting role reports directly into the Financial Controller. The position will be responsible for the financial aspects of various projects within the Group working closely with not only the accounting teams, but operational managers and project teams. This position is open to finance professional studying ACCA/CIMA/ACA or candidates qualified by experience.


Your new role


Your key duties will involve monthly management accounts for individual projects, financial analysis, reconciliation of key balance sheet accounts, preparation of the year-end and support for audit processes, along with assisting with project forecasting and planning. You will be involved in monthly/annual reporting, reporting on project performances, including actual and forecast vs budget, and support for continuous development/improvements on financial processes. You will provide financial support to the team in the creation of project bids, adherence to local taxations and banking controls, along with providing financial scenarios, and completing a range of pricing processes. Execution of project financial controls on cash management and expenditure, along with reconciliations of floats and communication to overseas bank accounts. You will support in various ad-hoc duties for both financial and operational management.


What you'll need to succeed


To be considered for this hands-on and progressive Management Accountant position you will need some experience within a similar role, ideally AAT Qualified studying towards CIMA/ACCA/ACA or qualified by experience. You will have experience in management accounting processes, strong MS excel skills, and be comfortable within a range of accounting systems. You will have strong interpersonal skills to build internal and external relationships, good commercial awareness, and be used to managing workloads to meet deadlines. Ideally, you will understand balance sheet processes and accounting for areas of P&L. Experience in project accounting, costing/bid/pricing scenarios, and knowledge of overseas banking processes would be advantageous but not essential.
