Hays Accountancy & Finance are partnering with an interesting group that provides services to the UK Defence sector to recruit a dynamic and driven Assistant Finance Business Partner within the Gloucestershire area. Offering a hybrid of remote/office working role will provide a dedicated finance support to a portfolio of services supporting a Senior Finance Business Partner. Ideally suited to a part-qualified/newly qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA finance professional, seeking a progressive role where they can really add value. This permanent and commercial business partner role will offer a study package and car allowance, along with additional group benefits.
Your new role
Your key duties will involve supporting the Business Partner in working with the management and operational teams to provide effective finance business partnering. Ownership of management accounts within the contract's overall remit, producing journals, reviewing transactions and postings, ensuring that the financial records are accurate and appropriately provisioned. You will play a key role in preparation of monthly results and the subsequent provision of management information to inform decision-making. Supporting the annual budget exercises, underpinned with periodic rolling forecasting, informed by budget holders, and supported with information and experience gleaned from successful business partnering. You will support in the production of KPI's, management reporting built from data, reviewing risk and opportunities from commercial activities, and work with the commercial teams to understand the way that they report revenues and cost ensuring accounting records are accurate. You will provide ad-hoc analysis as required for strategy planning and business evaluation and play an active participant in varying projects arising across the business.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this commercial Assistant Finance Business Partner role you will need some experience within a similar position, understanding of month-end processes, financial reporting, and journal preparation. You will ideally be studying towards ACA, ACCA, or CIMA, very willing to learn and keen to progress in your accounting career. You will have good commercial awareness and be comfortable building relationships at all levels, both internally and externally. You will be used to managing workloads and meeting deadlines, with a key eye for detail and accuracy. You will be comfortable using a range of financial systems with strong MS Excel skills. Experience of understanding accounting principles under IFRS would be advantageous but not essential.
What you'll get in return
This permanent Assistant Finance Business Partner role offers a salary between £38,000 - £45,000 per annum dependable on experience, plus car allowance and study package. Remote working with ad-hoc travel to various related offices within Gloucestershire and the Southwest. Competitive group benefits are offered along with progression/development.
