HAYS are delighted to be partnering with a large Professional Services firm, based in Birmingham City Centre, to recruit for a Financial Accountant on a permanent basis. This role has come up due to a leaver in the team. The main purpose of this role is within the Accounting and Tax team, assisting with the preparation of Group financial accounts for both month-end reporting and the year-end audit. This role sits in an award-winning finance team, with lots of opportunities for progression and development within a supportive and dynamic environment.
This role is paying up to £53,000 plus benefits, and a hybrid working structure is in place.
The key responsibilities of this role are:
- Maintain key accounting records across all Group entities and branches, including: balance sheet reconciliations, accruals and prepayments, fixed asset registers, bad debt provision, professional indemnity provision and other general ledger adjustments.
- Preparation of month end reports and associated commentary.
- Review and maintenance of the general ledger and associated reporting to help manage budgets and forecasts.
- Assist with preparation of the Group audit working paper files.
- Liaise with external auditors to assist with any audit queries.
- Assist Tax Accountants with pulling together tax analysis for advisors and other tax compliance.
The key responsibilities of this role are:
- Qualified ACA/ACCA with an audit/tax background
- High level Microsoft Excel user essential
- Financial reporting, strong accounting and tax experience
- Good data analysis skills
- Effective communication skills across all levels
