You'll advise clients on their local and overseas tax affairs, while acting as a strategic consultant related to business analysis, managing indirect taxes, dispute resolution, and global enterprise tax solutions.Our team helps our clients identify and reduce tax risks, meet compliance obligations, implement tax strategies that complement business and operational objectives, resolve disagreements with tax authorities, and manage tax accounting and reporting issues. You'll be engaged in projects dealing with International tax, mergers and acquisitions, state and local tax accounting, regulatory processes, tax reporting and strategy.
PwC's national Capital Allowances team advise a wide range of clients, helping them secure tax incentives in respect of capital investments. Flexible on location you can be based from any of our Southern offices which include London, Reading, Southampton, Reading and Watford. We are a diverse team with a strong focus on growth.

The role

We are looking to recruit an individual at Senior Associate level, with experience of or keen interest in Capital Allowances. You will be client facing from the start and will get the opportunity to work with businesses across all industries as well as on flagship real estate projects. You are joining a dynamic team that can draw on a multifaceted skill set and an appetite for innovation.

Your role will include:
  • Working with our client's finance, property and tax teams to identify and secure a wide range of tax relief.
  • Helping to identify and develop new business development opportunities
  • Providing support on claim preparation and technical advice across various sectors from a Capital Allowances perspective
  • Supporting Senior Managers, Directors and Partners in managing a portfolio of Capital Allowance clients and project delivery across these
  • Project managing the preparation of Capital Allowance claims for submission to HMRC
  • Advising on property and corporate transactions, technology transformation projects and data analytics.
  • Working collaboratively with a strong team focus. As part of the role, the team work closely with other areas of tax, in particular the real estate as well as R&D team.


Essential skills and experience
  • Experience of working in a tax environment or property related services (i.e. quantity surveyor)
  • Working knowledge of tax incentives and experience in preparing Capital Allowances claims and a keen interest in developing further
  • Excellent communication skills - the candidate will be expected to be the point of contact on the projects they manage supporting a range of stakeholders including client contacts, PwC staff in the incentives team and also in the wider tax practice
  • Coaching and delegation - the successful candidate will help to develop a growing team of associates supporting the Capital Allowances team, helping them grow their technical expertise alongside their soft skills
  • Good written skills including report writing, technical memo drafting and concise advice notes for sharing with clients
  • Analytical skills for numerical analysis of client data
