Role and Responsibilities:
As a Personal Tax Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing personal tax compliance and assisting clients with their self-assessment tax returns.
Your key responsibilities will include:
1. Managing a portfolio of individual clients and ensuring accurate and timely completion of their self-assessment tax returns.
2. Conducting comprehensive tax reviews, identifying tax planning opportunities, and providing proactive advice to minimize tax liabilities within legal boundaries.
3. Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of personal tax legislation, regulations, and compliance requirements to ensure full compliance for clients.
4. Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, acting as their trusted advisor for personal tax matters.
5. Assisting with tax queries, investigations, and correspondence with tax authorities on behalf of clients.
6. Collaborating with colleagues across different departments to provide integrated solutions and deliver outstanding service to clients.
7. Mentoring and supporting junior team members, fostering their professional development in personal tax.
**Qualifications and Skills:**
To succeed in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
1. Relevant professional qualification (e.g., ATT, CTA) or equivalent experience in personal taxation.
2. Proven experience (3+ years) in a similar role within an accountancy practice, with a focus on personal tax compliance and self-assessment tax returns.
3. Strong knowledge of personal tax legislation, regulations, and compliance requirements.
4. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple client deadlines effectively.
5. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling you to explain complex tax concepts to clients in a clear and concise manner.
6. Proficiency in tax software and MS Office applications.
7. A proactive and client-centric approach, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
