Main purpose of role:


This is a senior role that has responsibility of the day to day running of the financial operations. Managing the core Finance team and providing support to the Finance Director.

Main responsibilities:


Scope and Authority: Finance Manager Take responsibility for core functions within the department and provide training and development to members of the Finance team.

To include;

  • Manage accounts payable and receivable functions
  • Month end processes and reconciliation
  • Maintenance of the fixed asset register cashflow forecast of capital spend
  • Support with financial reporting
  • Coach and develop direct reports to be cross functional
  • Business partner with other functions at the Herefordshire site and across the wider business network
  • Support with the annual financial audit and ensure compliance with IFRS throughout the year
  • Work with the Management Accountant to develop best practice ways of working
  • Reviewing standard costs for accuracy and updating as necessary



Responsible for the input and validation of static data providing an accurate and consistent basis for the processing and reporting functionality within the business operating system

  • Input static data into business operating system
  • Validate static data for accuracy and consistency
  • Work with other business functions to improve the accuracy and consistency of static data
  • Work with other business functions and system specialists to enhance the quality and range of data information to improve business systems and reporting
  • Process Data Management requests in a timely manner in full support of business processing
  • Perform any other reasonable tasks associated with the activities of the Finance Department or the Company as a whole, as requested.



Work experience

Essential

  • Relevant experience in a Finance Manager role.
  • Understanding of credit control.
  • Knowledge of the structure of data tables together with the importance of data format.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages such as Excel and Word
  • Excellent numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office packages to record, analyse and communicate information.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Team player and good interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
  • Flexible to meet reporting deadlines and also cover other duties within the department as and when required

Desirable

  • Previous experience of working with large volumes of data and databases.
  • Previous experience managing a team
  • Experience of using Enterprise Resource Platforms (ERP) e.g. JD Edwards.
