You'll develop strong relationships with our engagement teams and established audit clients and enhance our ability to meet greater investor expectations with the challenges of an increasingly complex business environment.Our team provides advice and counsel on accounting, financial reporting, and strategic business issues using US GAAP and International Financial Reporting Standards frameworks. You'll work on both local and global engagements and keep PwC teams informed about accounting and financial reporting developments that might affect engagements through issuing communications and through curated trainings. You'll also assist with developing and communicating PwC's point of view to internal and external parties as needed.
Job Description

The Corporate Reporting Services ("CRS") team is looking for a Senior Manager to join them for the role of supporting the Global Chief Accountant and the Head of Reporting ("GCAHR") and the Global CRS Leadership Team.

You will be part of a team that provides technical and practical advice to internal and external clients in how to resolve complex accounting issues arising from the implementation of IFRS and issues arising from events and transactions as well as ESG reporting requirements. You will also be involved in helping to drive the global strategic priorities for CRS and be secretary to the Global CRS Leadership team ("LT").

CRS will offer you a wide variety of work experience and an opportunity to develop your skills in this specialist area.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for a high performing senior manager. As part of the role, the successful candidate will be responsible for driving the GCRS Leadership Team's agenda, interacting with the LT partners and running related projects, this includes policy and operational matters.

The GCAHR leads the Global CRS network of IFRS and ESG reporting specialists. This network comprises around 600 staff and partners based in around 50 countries. The GCRS Leadership Team is made up of 15 senior CRS partners representing the CRS Topic Streams and key territories around the world, chaired by the GCAHR.

The GCAHR is a member of the Global Assurance Leadership Team ("GALT") and Global Quality Assurance Executive (QAEx) and reports to the GALT and QAEx on Global CRS activities and IFRS issues at its regular calls and meetings.

This role also involves working part time for the UK CRS function.

Responsibilities

Support to the GCAHR
  • Prepare papers and presentations for the GCAHR on a wide range of strategic, policy and operational topics. This includes preparing communications and updates for the Global Assurance Leadership Team (GALT), QAEx, Territory Assurance Leaders, CRS Territory Leaders and the wider GCRS network, as well as liaison with chiefs of staff of the Quality Assurance Executive.
  • Coordinate strategic communications to the GCRS network.
  • Organise and contribute to quarterly Global CRS network calls.
  • Keep in regular contact with senior GCRS members and bring matters arising to the GCAHR's attention.
  • Keep up to date with the GCAHR's commitments and anticipate any input/preparation necessary for forthcoming events.
  • Act as a primary contact for practice partners and staff, Global CRS partners and consultants, and the Leadership Team on GCRS policy, quality and operations.


Secretary to the Global CRS Leadership Team
  • Manage the GCRS Leadership Team's agenda: anticipate and identify agenda topics; prepare and present papers; document minutes and actions; and ensure that meetings and calls run smoothly.
  • Run associated GCRS Leadership Team projects as they arise.
  • Organise an annual in-person 2-day strategic Leadership Team meeting
  • Support on creating content for regional in-person conferences or Network-wide virtual events
  • Facilitate implementation of GCRS strategic priorities and actions, working with senior GCRS members.
  • Liaise with GCRS partners regarding accreditation and membership: lead the GCRS nomination and annual member confirmation process.


Other
  • Maintain an overview of the activities of the GAQ-CRS (Central) Team and act as the point of contact between other Functional Directors to the QAEx
  • Oversee and work with the GAQ-CRS (Central Team's) Project Manager to ensure efficiency of operational and strategic matters


UK CRS role
  • Take an active role in UK CRS, preparing responses to consultations, performing financial statement reviews and being involved in the activities of one of the topic teams
  • Support the UK CRS Leader in making the best use of the UK Firm's contribution to the Global CRS network by assisting in the effective implementation of global initiatives into the UK CRS team.

Requirements

This is a high profile role with significant exposure to senior partners across the network and is likely to suit a senior manager with the following skills and attributes:
  • A self-starter, able to use initiative to decide what needs to be done without being told;
  • Excellent organisational, project management and delivery skills;
  • Superior writing skills, including the ability to create high quality presentations, reports and briefing papers;
  • Strong verbal communication skills, a good negotiator with the confidence and credibility to interact with senior leaders across the network;
  • A high degree of professionalism and integrity, able to work effectively in a sensitive environment;
  • A people person, able to influence and build relationships with a wide variety of individuals, and foster that network;
  • An understanding of CRS' role within Assurance in providing IFRS and ESG reporting advice and support to engagement teams and clients.
  • ACA/ACCA/ICAS exam qualified.
