You'll advise clients on their local and overseas tax affairs, while acting as a strategic consultant related to business analysis, managing working capital, and profit sharing for partners. You'll also help organisations understand the pricing implications of goods and services between related parties, as well as providing advice on tax implications of deals.Our team helps our clients improve their tax function to control risk and facilitate better decision making. You'll focus on helping businesses with tax strategy, ensuring tax compliance, increasing post tax profits, and providing application support to achieve the best corporate tax practices.

Our Deals Tax team works closely with our Deals practice to advise on the tax implications of every stage of the deal lifecycle for clients across a broad range of industries including Private Equity , Real Estate, Infrastructure and Credit

The role sits within the Real Assets and Credit team, part of the wider Deals Tax team and will have a particular focus on providing transaction tax and structuring services to managers of credit and debt funds

investing across a variety of asset classes (including primary loan origination; non-performing and

performing secondary loan portfolios; Single credit distressed and special situations; structured finance

and securitisation).

The role would also include working with our wider teams across the financial services and broader corporate tax network to support clients investing in the Credit sector across all aspects of the credit fund lifecycle, from fund design/structuring, through the investment stage and to ultimate value realisation,

Responsibilities
  • Lead teams to deliver bespoke, commercially focused tax advice in a fast-paced and evolving international deals market
  • Responsibility for establishing and maintaining relationships as a trusted advisor; leading client engagements and work across our Deals business to lead multi-disciplinary solutions to clients
  • Be proactive in seeking opportunities to deliver and enhance value for new and existing clients
  • Use your internal network to draw upon specialist input on tax and non-tax matters in connection with transactions
  • Overall responsibility for ensuring successful delivery and management of projects, including financial performance
  • Take an active role in contributing to the strategic vision of the Credit and wider Deals Tax Team - working to capture opportunities for growth and diversification
  • Lead by example in your personal development, coaching your team to advance their learning and fulfil their own potential
  • Be agile and open minded in your approach to new challenges and seek opportunities to enhance project delivery through new technologies


Essential skills and experience
  • Chartered Accountant (ACCA, ICAEW, ICAS, CAI) or Chartered Tax Advisor (ATT, CTA) or equivalent international or legal professional qualification
  • Extensive experience, successfully leading teams on a number of transactions including due diligence, structuring & tax modelling
  • Strong understanding of indirect and transfer taxes, management taxes and international tax principles
  • A substantive, proven track record of building internal and external relationships and networks, both within the UK and overseas
  • Developed communication skills, specifically in negotiating with and influencing others
  • An inquisitive mind and ability to solve problems as part of a diverse team
  • Ability to use tax technical knowledge & insights in a fast paced commercial environment
  • Proven ability to win client engagements and develop new business relationships with clients.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, able to work collaboratively with people at all levels in a confident manner
