Risk
We're a leading provider of trust in the digital world - in the eyes of our people, our clients and our stakeholders. Today's business environment is different. More complex. More connected. Companies not only face new and unknown risks, but also new and untapped opportunities. Our team is at the forefront of this change, join us to be a part of transforming how risk is perceived and capitalised on.
Join FSRI for a cycle of experience and future proof your skills
'Financial Services Regulatory Insights' is the catalyst and 'engine room' of PwC's FS risk and regulatory practice. We focus on emerging trends in risk and regulation, and develop early points of view and thought leadership. We take a forward-looking view of new risk and regulatory issues, develop a deep understanding of the potential implications and use these insights to engage with clients and our client teams.
As part of the expansion of our team we are looking for people to join us! This role is to act as a Senior Manager working on the payments sector. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your knowledge of new areas of risk and regulation, build experience and your network and then to return to the business armed with that insight. The role will provide you with the chance to develop, gain new skills and experiences and to work with a range of clients.
For this role an understanding of payments is crucial, with ideally experience of issues such as the current PSR agenda, payments legislation and rules etc., as is an understanding of the broader regulatory environment. But in part your knowledge will be built up during the secondment as you develop your understanding, so if you feel you only meet some of these criteria but you are agile and keen to learn please don't hold back from applying.
The team coalesce around c.ten key propositions, agreed with the FS leadership team. For each proposition we track new developments that will affect our clients, and engage with a wide range of stakeholders including regulators, trade associations and government, producing technical commentary and thought-leadership, through to proposition development.
In addition to the technical regulatory knowledge above, you should consider:
Responsibilities
- Supporting clients and client delivery teams in understanding the impact of relevant regulatory developments and supervisory expectations for firms
- Occasionally acting as subject matter expert on engagements
- Undertaking horizon scanning activities and identifying potential new opportunities for the firm
- Contributing to the work of FSRI focusing on new regulatory developments, wider themes and regulators' policymaking, supervisory and enforcement activities
- Producing written analysis and information including thought leadership, client publications and blogs.
- Conducting research, training, speaking at client events, responding to consultation papers from relevant regulatory bodies etc.
- Providing input to the debate on development and application of policy, participating in developing Thought Leadership
- Engaging with regulators and policy makers on areas of expertise, and supporting the activity of FSRI's wider regulatory relations team.
- Utilising your network to develop commercially focused propositions with our practice.
As a Senior Manager, your role would more explicitly involve:
- The development and leadership of others in the team - either within your proposition focus or at a sector/sub-sector level, in addition to typical review and oversight responsibilities.
- Ownership of commercial proposition development.
Wider business unit
As part of the Risk National BU, you would also be expected to engage in typical BU activities to support and develop colleagues, such as career coaching, participation in D&I, wellness, social committees etc.
