I am working with a leading manufacturer of high-quality products, serving a diverse and loyal customer base for over 50 years. They are proud of their reputation for excellence and innovation, and are looking for a company accountant to join our finance department and help us achieve their goals.

As the company accountant, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing the finance function and leading the small finance team
  • Preparing and presenting full monthly management accounts, including profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow and variance analysis
  • Developing and maintaining budgets and forecasts, and providing regular reports to the management team
  • Monitoring and reporting on cash flow and working capital, and ensuring effective cash management
  • Analysing product costing and profitability, and identifying areas for improvement
  • Liaising with external auditors, tax advisors, banks and other stakeholders
  • Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, policies and procedures

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, AAT or Qualified by experience)
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably with exposure to costing
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to interact with senior management and other departments
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting software (Sage ideally)
  • A proactive, problem-solving and analytical mindset
  • A positive, flexible and team-oriented attitude
