Your new company
My client is a growing specialist, sustainable manufacturing company based in West Cumbria. They are looking for a talented Accountant to join their friendly team on a permanent basis. As Commercial Finance Analyst you will provide business partnering support to the Commercial team, providing accurate financial information to build resilience in commercial relationships. This is a newly created role and will join a team of 6 finance staff.


Your new role

  • Providing finance business partnering support to the commercial team including the commercial director.
  • Effectively use data to drive decision-making and action, delivering clarity and support to internal customers
  • Analysis of monthly management accounts, ensuring relevant and meaningful data is presented.
  • Identification and communication of risks and opportunities
  • Actively take part in meetings with the commercial team and helping to bring financial data to life
  • Analysis of commercial margins with detailed variances' analysis for month end, forecasts, and budgets.
  • Working closely with the finance analyst / operations finance manager to evaluate costs of sales.
  • Analysing and checking all customer pricing and invoicing in area of responsibility.
  • Preparing forecast / budget reports
  • Weekly analysis of gross margins for the current month compared to the latest forecast
  • Accruals and reconciliation of sales and balance sheet reconciliation
  • Management of external audit for area of responsibility
  • Identifying areas of inefficiency and leading projects that improve processes and analysis - ensuring continuous improvement and automation where practical.
  • Reviewing, improving and maintaining fit for purpose systems and processes ensuring they are robust and resilient for the future.


What you'll need to succeed
Excellent communicator
Relevant accounting qualification (ACCA / CIMA) – part qualified with strong sector experience also encouraged to apply
3 years experience in a commercial finance role
Excel proficient – data modelling
Ability to analyse and summarise complex information clearly
Highly numerate with strong IT and financial analysis skills
Possesses a can-do attitude and strong sense of ownership


What you'll get in return
Salary is up to 47k per annum
34 days annual leave including banks
37 hours per week, typically Monday to Friday 9-5pm
Single BUPA
5% employer pension contribution, 5% employee
4 x life insurance
