Your new company
You will be joining a business based in the heart of the city centre of Norwich within walking distance of the train station. This company has an excellent culture and look after their staff well, offering some great benefits for an SME and an excellent flexible/agile working arrangement. Due to organic growth, they are looking to appoint a Management Accountant on a full time permanent basis.

Your new role
As the Management Accountant, you'll be at the heart of their financial operations, making an impact by producing crucial financial reports, partnering with business leaders, and ensuring compliance with regulations. In this dynamic role, no two days are the same, and you'll have the chance to drive positive change within their finance department.

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Stewardship: Ensure their businesses meet their statutory and compliance obligations, conduct internal audits when necessary, and work closely with the Financial Controller and Finance Director to uphold correct processes.
  • Month-End Excellence: Take charge of preparing month-end consolidated accounts and statutory returns, playing a key role in maintaining financial accuracy.
  • Tax Expertise: Draft statutory accounts for Group businesses and calculate tax liabilities across the group while staying compliant with regulations, serving as the primary contact for auditors.
  • Strategic Support: Collaborate with business and department heads to effectively manage budgets and provide valuable financial insights.
  • Process Enhancement: Contribute to continuous improvement in finance processes and systems, implementing best practices and controls.
  • Forecasting Excellence: Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financing requirements, helping to shape our financial future.
  • Company Secretarial Duties: Take responsibility for all company secretarial functions, ensuring organisational compliance.
  • Analytical Prowess: Perform ad-hoc reporting and financial analysis when required, adding valuable insights to support decision-making.
  • Risk Management: Partner with the Financial Controller/Finance Director to identify risks, propose solutions, and manage stakeholders' expectations effectively.
  • Versatile Contribution: Be ready to step in and handle any other duties as required, contributing to the agility of the finance team.

As previously mentioned, this company offer an excellent flexible/agile working arrangement. The working hours are Monday to Friday, 9am until 5pm but there is flexibility on the start and finish times as they do not micromanage as a business, they manage on output, not time.

What you'll need to succeed
We are looking for a Management Accountant with at least 2+ years' experience performing the above responsibilities. A formal qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA) would be preferable but not essential. If you're a part qualified accountant actively studying or a QBE accountant with significant experience, then your application will also be considered. The key competencies we are looking for are driven, motivation, team player and flexibility.

What you'll get in return
On offer is a salary between £40,000-£50,000 per annum, which is potentially negotiable. The benefits include private medical insurance, excellent maternity and shared parental leave, group discounts (includes bars and restaurants locally), and lots of flexible/agile working.
