Hays Accountancy & Finance are partnering with a growing and successful international business within an interesting sector to recruit for a dynamic and hands-on Financial Manager based in their Ross-On-Wye, Herefordshire office. Reporting directly into the Financial Director the role is to handle all the Group's finance functions including financial reporting, accounting, forecasting, budgeting, and commercial processes. An exciting and newly created opportunity due to company growth where you can really add value, with future development opportunities if wanted. This permanent and varied accounting role is open to qualified, part-qualified or qualified by experience finance professionals.

Your new role

Your key duties will involve forecasting, financial planning, cash flow and cash management processes, monthly management accounts, financial reporting, and line management of a small accounting team. You will perform and have oversight of all regulatory functions including VAT returns, monthly EC sales list and organising/managing financial audits to comply with both UK & overseas legislation. You will manage the daily accounting routine processes including journals, bank transactions, prepayments, accruals, maintenance of fixed asset register and control of supplier payments. You will oversee credit control processes, manage the company's insurances, payroll/pension processes and liaise with both UK/International bankers. You will liaise with company external accountants to plan/complete year-ends, tax planning and returns. You will support the Financial Director in commercial arrangements and related processes, along with being involved in projects to support process/system improvements and organisation growth.

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this hands-on Finance Manager role you will need experience within a similar position, excellent proficiency in MS excel and financial systems, along with a hands-on and analytical working approach. You will be a self-starter with strong attention to detail, ability to work in a small and dynamic team, along with being able to manage workloads to meet time constraint deadlines. You will be part-qualified/qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA or qualified by experience with strong communication and persuasion skills to build relationships with operational teams and external parties. Ideally you will have experience supervising a small accounting team. Experience with commercial finance processes, contracts, international businesses/trade, and the defence/security sector would be advantageous but not essential.
