Hays Accountancy & Finance are partnering with a growing and well-established family run SME to recruit for a hands-on and experienced Accountant based on the outskirts of Hereford, Herefordshire. Reporting directly into the Company Directors this is a varied permanent accounting role taking ownership of all financial processes for the business, while overseeing and supervising a small accounting team. A great opportunity to really add value and support the organisation through growth, as they develop further. The role will involve management and financial accounting processes, monthly reporting through to budgeting/forecasting, and the management of transactional finance processes.

Your new role
Your key duties will involve monthly management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and sales reporting along with managing all finance transactional processes (sales ledger, purchase ledger and credit control). You will be involved in pricing and costing processes, detailed cash flow management, bank reconciliations, payroll processes, preparation of statutory accounts and management of the audit process. You will manage VAT processes and corporation tax, managing relationships with external parties (including banks) along with supporting a small accounting team. You will be involved in process improvement as the business growths further and ad-hoc duties/projects for the Senior Management Team.

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this hands-on Accountant role you will need experience within a similar position, ideally CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified/part-qualified or qualified by experience with experience working within an SME. You will be used to varied accounting positions, managing your own workloads, and meeting deadlines. You will have strong MS Excel skills, comfortable with financial systems and have a keen interest in improving processes/systems. You will have a professional and positive attitude and willing to adapt to business needs. Experience with Sage packages and supervisory skills would be advantageous but not essential.

What you'll get in return

This permanent Accountant role is offering a salary between £40,000 - £45,000 per annum, dependable on experience, based on the outskirts of Hereford, Herefordshire.
