4-6 month interim accounting role starting asap

Your new role:
The role of the Senior Financial Accountant will be to take an active role in all aspects of the Group's financial accounting agenda with a particular focus on acquisition accounting and the monthly consolidated results Additionally working closely with the Director, Group Finance to complete the Group audit and financial accounts on a timely basis will be a key requirement.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Preparation of all acquisition-related finance information, including preparation and review of completion balance sheets under both UK GAAP and IFRS for newly acquired businesses, working with the internal M&A team to resolve any queries and subsequently determining any appropriate fair value adjustments
  • Management of the process of PPA adjustments for all acquisitions, including liaison with the external valuers
  • Assistance and input into in the preparing the Groups' monthly consolidated balance sheets and cash flows, with a good understanding of the consolidation system
  • Playing a key role in process improvement including use of the group consolidation system
  • Assisting in corporation tax planning matters, including PSA, CIS and general HMRC correspondence
  • Assisting in management and preparation of year-end including the preparation of consolidated and entity statutory accounts
  • Ad hoc tasks to assist the Director, Group Finance and other members of the wider Finance function

  • What you'll need to succeed
  • Qualified accountant (ACA) with minimum 5-7 years PQE in industry
  • Excellent working knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS
  • Prior experience of acquisition accounting
  • Prior experience of preparing group statutory accounts and monthly management accounts
  • Prior experience of preparing large consolidations
  • Ability to understand and work with multiple companies and business divisions
  • A curious mind and an innovative and dedicated approach to work and a willingness to recommend and implement improvements to the processes
  • Ability to work under pressure, excellent time management skills and ability to meet agreed deadlines in a fast moving, fluid and dynamic environment
  • Pride in one's work
  • Good IT literacy, including MS applications. Sage and SAP Business Objects would be an advantage
