Are you a qualified forensic accountant, at assistant manager level, looking for the next step, to forensic manager, looking to lead a wide variety of engagements, this career opportunity could be your ideal next step.

Your case portfolio will cover dispute resolution and commercial litigation, matrimonial proceedings and fraud and investigations, providing you with invaluable experience and knowledge of a breadth of core skills required for this specialist work.

You will be working closely with the Partners and wider forensic team members and in collaboration with other departments throughout Dains.

Main responsibilities:

  • Ownership of the delivery of engagements from start to finish, from onboarding and financial analysis to report writing and follow up
  • Development of relationships with work providers, including solicitors, insurers and other external professionals
  • Pivotal role in ongoing client relationship management
  • Lead, manage and mentor junior team members

Qualifications and Attributes:

 

  • Degree educated to 2.1 minimum You will progress towards ACA qualification is essential, (suitable equivalents may be considered subject to sufficient experience). Ability to use/learn software and systems operated by Audit as appropriate. Have a genuine interest in external audit Attend courses (internal and external) to aid you on the capacity to fulfil your role.

 

Key Responsibilities as Audit Assistant:

  • To carry out client audit work under the direction of the Audit Senior or Semi Senior using the firm’s approach. To investigate and resolve problems arising during the audit under the supervision of the Audit Senior or Semi Senior. To gain familiarisation with the client’s internal reporting and control procedures. To ensure the work is recorded in a clear and concise manner and working papers are legible and well presented. To bring to the attention of the Audit Senior or Semi Senior anything which is not understood, or which is inconsistent with expectations. To provide ad-hoc support to other members of the audit department as required.
