A fully qualified accountant is needed for this new part or full time role in South Oxfordshire.

My client is based in in Chilton in South Oxfordshire and, as a member association, supports and nurtures the horticultural industry to ensure a robust and sustainable future. For over 120 years, they have represented and supported their members on issues impacting the sector. They provide their members a platform to promote their business and develop relationships with suppliers and customers alike. This is all enshrined in the association's governance and leadership, which is robust and has survived the test of time. They welcome garden retailers, growers, manufacturers and suppliers, landscapers and service providers in the UK. They do this through representation of members' interests to government and media, providing great garden gifting products and helping members develop their businesses through first-class advice.

Your new role
To prepare monthly management accounts, with variance analysis to budget and prior year on a timely basis, perform key reconciliation tasks and assist with monthly/year-end processes and statutory returns.

What you'll need to succeed

* Qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA)
* Proven experience of working in a similar position within a Finance Accounting team.
* Demonstrable experience of successfully closing month-end and preparation of journals and VAT returns.
* Previous financial systems experience, specifically SAGE 200.
* Strong IT skills with knowledge of MS office.
* Advanced excel skills including pivot tables and Vlookups.
* Effective written, verbal and electronic communication skills.
* Strong interpersonal and teamworking skills, with the ability to work with colleagues at all levels including non-finance members of staff.
* Organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
* Adaptable, who can confidently work within a changing environment.
