Hays Accountancy & Finance are partnering with a leading and rapidly growing Financial Services Group in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire to recruit for a dynamic Personal Tax Accountant (Trusts) . A newly created role for the organisation to work within their private client team, specialising in personal tax processes within Trusts. A great opportunity to become an expert for the organisation in managing all the compliance on personal tax matters. Your new role
Key duties will involve preparation of personal tax returns for trusts and individuals ensuring these are produced accurately and submitted on time. Monitoring tax return progress to ensure timely completion and submission to HMRC, dealing with routine HMRC enquiries from inception to completion, along with b building/ maintaining relationships and providing a high level of client service. You will support Financial Planners on advisory projects and in the implementation of complex tax planning arrangements, including capital gains tax and inheritance tax/succession planning. You will capture financial data from custodians and upload/input that data on various accounting systems and depending on the size of the case/transactions, produce annual financial statements. You will be expected to research more complex UK tax compliance/new legislation, and support with various related projects/duties to enable further company growth.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this newly created Personal Tax Accountant role you will need experience within a similar position, CTA/ACA/ACCA qualified with experience of working in personal tax teams within Trusts. You will have experience of researching complex tax compliance and current HMRC practices, knowledge of common reporting standards, FATCA and trust registration service along with the ability to work under pressure and manage your own workloads. You will have effective decision making and problem-solving skills, key communication skills with the ability to influence at a senior level and have experience of working with medium/high net worth individuals. Knowledge of additional private client services, including power of attorney and experience of Intelligent Office would be advantageous but not essential.
