Finance Business Partner required for leading West Sussex NFP organisation

ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified accountant

Client Details

Leading West Sussex non-profit organisation are looking to recruit 2 x Finance Business Partners on a 9-month fixed term contract basis. Please note this is a hybrid job opportunity


  • Lead the budget and forecast cycles for areas of responsibility, advising stakeholders on key budgetary and forecast assumptions, trade-offs and opportunities
  • Work with budget holders to develop and create budget and performance drivers that are appropriate and aligned to departmental and corporate goals
  • Work with stakeholders to provide financial support through projects and change including financial modelling and appraising risk and return
  • Monitor, interpret, analyse and provide insightful commentary on business unit performance using a range of financial and non-financial tools and techniques to support performance management and decision support
  • Work collaboratively with the Corporate Finance team to understand the Long Term Financial Plan and feed in to the plan as required
  • Ensure reporting integrity is maintained and instruct adjustments to the accounting team
  • Provide the Group's external and internal auditors with the information they require to carry out their audit work
  • Provision of effective commercial procedures, or initiating change, to ensure key operational, commercial and financial targets are delivered
  • Provide industry, competitor and economic context to challenge and inform decision making
  • Apply continuous improvement tools and techniques to problem solve and deliver improvements to the reporting and analysis framework
  • Able to propose, justify, initiate and implement operational and financial process change
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis on specific issues
  • Attendance at all stakeholder related group meetings and relay relevant information to the accounting team


Professional qualification in accounting (ACA/CIMA/ACCA/CIPFA)

  • Extensive experience in budgeting and forecasting
  • Experience of using management reporting and analysis systems
  • Strong interpersonal skills, dynamism, and drive to complete tasks
  • Ability to translate financial information into understandable format for non-financial experts
  • Experience of driving commercial decision making and creating value
  • Strong team player ethic and ability to manage competing demands from different stakeholders across finance and the business
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Ability to tailor approach for different stakeholders to deliver mutually beneficial outcomes - proven experience of facilitation and conflict resolution
  • Strong presentation skills
  • A working knowledge of current financial reporting standards
