Hays are exclusively partnering with a fast-paced and dynamic organisation in the Worcester area as they look to recruit a Management Accountant on a fixed-term contract basis for a period of 18 months to cover maternity leave.

Established over 20 years ago, this rapidly growing online retail business are going from strength-to-strength and are now seen as a leading label for the youth market.

Your new role
Reporting into an excellent Financial Controller, you will offer key day-to-day management accounting support for their US business.

Main duties:

  • Assisting in the preparation of monthly management accounts including P&L reports, balance sheets, board reports and cash flow forecasts
  • Assisting with the preparation of financial information such as trend analysis and spend analysis reports
  • Assisting the Financial Controller in producing the monthly and annual financial reporting requirements
  • Preparation of month-end journals such as prepayments, accruals and depreciation
  • Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Weekly sales reconciliations and investigation into any issues identified
  • Stock reconciliations
  • Make recommendations to improve internal processes and efficiencies within the team

What you'll need to succeed

  • AAT qualified and ideally studying towards ACCA/CIMA - QBEs may be considered providing relevant experience can be demonstrated
  • Good understanding of day-to-day financial processes and management accounting knowledge
  • High attention to detail and able to co-ordinate substantial amounts of information
  • Excellent communication skills with the confidence to build relationships at all levels of a business
  • Capable of dealing with change in a fast-paced and complex business
  • Strong Excel/spreadsheet skills and familiarity with accounting software (NetSuite highly advantageous)
