As Controller/Management accountant you will serve as the Finance Business Partner for the local management team. The role includes a timely and accurate closing cycle and you will ensure adequate internal controls are followed to safeguard the assets of the business. The role will also drive continuous improvements both operating performance and financial processes, while building and maintaining strong relationships with the European finance organisation.

Description
- Responsible for completion of accurate daily, weekly and monthly reporting
- Analysing of budget vs actual costs; providing explanation on financial figures
- Responsible for accurate and timely month end and annual end closing. Including Balance Sheet reconciliation to ensure accurate, timely and complete financial figures. Plus reporting to local management and European finance team.
- Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management
- Provide financial analyses as needed; such as sales & margin analysis, working capital etc
- Identify process gaps, savings, proposed and implement solutions
- Running asset management system
- Developing together with European finance and operations teams systems to reach highest possible transparency such as connecting the ERP system with a data collection system
- Ensures compliance with established standards and Dakin policies.
- Is the point of contact for third parties concerning external audits, internal audits, tax authorities, etc.
- Jointly responsible for preparation of budget
- Reviews and authorise various tasks performed by finance employees to ensure accurate, timely and complete recording of financial transactions. Such as reviews and authorisations of:
- Manual journal entries
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Various reports prepared by finance employees
- Recharges to group companies
- Payments
Coordination with other departments such as sales, HR, R&D and production
Profile
- You will have knowledge of working within a commercial and manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting and cost control principles, including International Financial Reporting Standards and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles as applicable
- Risk assessment and preventive action
- Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems
- Ability to analyse financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections
- Working knowledge of short- and long-term budgeting and forecasting
- Good working knowledge of ERP systems, SAP is a preference,
- Strong analytical and proven statistical knowledge
- Excellent communication skills
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
