AQR Inspector - Banking (Seeking Audit Senior Managers)

Conduct audit file reviews and inspections at big four firms, focusing on banking audits. Work life balance.


The Organisation:
Working at the regulator - this organisation is known to provide employees with work life balance, flexibility and the option to work part time (4 days pro rata if preferred). There is lots of progression opportunity within this organisation and feedback from current employees is extremely positive with the organisation having a very low turnover. The work is interesting and varied and the work culture is positive and collaborative. They offer the ability to work from home the majority of the time with meetings in the office happening occasionally. Meetings with firms can happen in person but mostly on teams. Most firms also have facilities and space onsite for inspectors if needed.

The Job role:
The Inspector will conduct audit file reviews and inspections of firm-wide procedures at big four, mid-tier, international and/or public sector firms, focusing on banking audits subject to AQR inspection.

• Responsible for undertaking banking audit inspection work
• Able to make sound decisions about the significance of issues arising on inspections.
• Commitment to improving audit quality through the inspection process

Inspectors own inspections and it is a position of responsibility dealing with senior level stakeholders at firms. Reports include recommendations around files and firm wide procedures.

The Person:

• Qualified Accountant with up to date CPE.
• Experience at senior manager level or above in the audit profession in the audits of listed banks and other banking entities.
• Strong technical auditing and accounting skills particularly in banking
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to write reports
• Ability to present and debate issues arising in a sensitive yet robust manner and defend the AQR position on auditing judgments.

What you will get in return:
£90,824.25 plus 10% pension contribution and excellent work life balance (they do not tend to work beyond their contracted hours). The pay scale on the role does get reviewed every year and moves upward along the salary band.
