In a nutshell: 

We have a fantastic opportunity to join our share schemes team, you’ll work closely with our tax directors and senior managers to deliver share scheme work to our diverse range of clients, including family businesses, entrepreneurs and innovative businesses.

This role can be based within a reasonable distance to any of our offices, with a view to working out of the office two days per week.

What you'll be doing day to day

  • Meeting with clients to discuss their business/incentive needs and helping them find solutions
  • Working on the implementation of new employee incentive schemes
  • Helping clients to report their share schemes to HMRC
  • Providing advice on the tax treatment of a wide range of share schemes including EMI options, other HMRC tax-advantaged share plans and growth shares
  • Advising on the valuation of shares for tax purposes
  • Drafting legal documentation for the implementation of incentive structures
  • Supporting the undertaking of due diligence on employment related securities matters
  • Researching and preparing proposals for new work
  • Working with clients to produce EIS advance assurance applications for innovative businesses and assisting businesses with the EIS tax implications of their fundraises
  • Financial modelling using excel (training provided)
  • Analysis of tax legislation and guidance (training provided)

About you

  • Part or newly CTA qualified with an interest in or previous exposure to employment taxes
  • Some experience of EMI share options and/or EIS would be advantageous (but not essential)
  • Training can be given so inexperience is not a barrier
  • Good organisational, communication and project management skills
  • Ability to research tax technical issues
  • Ability to present work to colleagues and clients in a professional manner (i.e., report and proposal writing)
  • Sociable and enjoys being part of a wider team
