Your new role

A unique opportunity has arisen for an experienced finance professional to lead the consolidation process for Group Trading Operations and the Delegates' Property and Reserve Fund (DPRF). This will be for management accounts, year-end, planning and budgeting including the preparation of the annual Group Financial Statements. This is a great opportunity to work across multiple areas within a complex finance environment with opportunities to take ownership and push for business and personal continuous growth.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of consolidated results in Tagetik
  • Manage the preparation of the Group consolidated financial statements for Trading Ops and the DPRF
  • Act as a key contact for the external auditors including addressing queries on financial statements
  • Manage the UK and overseas subsidiary statutory accounts process
  • Provide technical accounting advice on topics including revenue recognition, deals, projects and business restructuring
  • Revise and improve group accounting policies to reflect the business and amendments in UK GAAP (and consider other major countries accounting rules i.e. IFRS if required)
  • Liaise with Group Tax and Group Treasury teams on internal trading and hedge accounting
  • Prepare papers for ExCo, Finance Committee and Audit Committee
  • Ad-hoc consolidation reporting and analysis.

We operate a hybrid working policy that requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the Oxford office. Flexibility to come in more during audit and year end is required. This is a full time role but we are open to applications from those looking to work 4 days per week also.

What you'll need to succeed

You will also have:

Essential:

  • Qualified financial accountant
  • Technical knowledge of UK GAAP/FRS 102 and IFRS
  • Experience of consolidation accounting
  • Systems experience of Office, ERP and other management information systems, ideally including consolidation tools (e.g. Tagetik/ Hyperion/ Cognos).


Desirable:

  • Experience of leading change
  • Experience of working in a multi-site global organization
  • Previous line management experience.
