Assistant Accountant - Oxford - £30,000-£40,000 DOE - Permanent
Your new company
This is an exciting opportunity to join an R&D company in Oxfordshire towards the end of their clinical trials phase. The purpose of the role is to directly support and shadow the Finance Director with a view to be promoted to a Management Accountant position in your first 12 months and continue to enjoy development as the company continues to grow.
Your new role
As the successful candidate your responsibilities will include:
- Ownership of Expenses and Purchase Ledger
- Making payments and reconciling several bank accounts in GBP, EUR and USD.
- Completion of journals including accruals and prepayments
- Prepare and reconcile intercompany reconciliations
- Complete the month end process reviewing the accounts, ensuring accurate reporting
- Preparation and submission of quarterly VAT Returns
- Assist with Payroll
- Assist with annual and interim audits.
- Ad hoc duties within a fast paced environment.
What you'll need to succeed
To be the successful candidate you will need:
- Studying CIMA/ACCA and or AAT Qualified desirable.
- Minimum of 3 years' finance experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, in particular Excel with good understanding of pivot tables, sumif's and VLOOKUP's.
- Strong understanding of transaction accounting and journal preparation.
- High attention to detail.
