A Financial Management role largely focused on financial planning, analysis and reporting for a portfolio of development projects within a global business with an outstanding reputation.

Description

  • Support country development managers with regional reporting/forecasting/MTP views, budget estimates for new projects and other ad hoc support
  • Deputise the Head of Controlling on portfolio planning and reporting topics as required
  • Drive portfolio wide reporting topics to improve reporting quality and transparency
  • Develop and Implement Controlling related processes and tools and seek continuous improvement ideas to benefit the team as a whole drawing on other Finance and IT related support as necessary
  • Support Joint Venture (JV) Service Contract negotiations by providing Controlling input into the contract drafting
  • Where applicable support other finance discussions with external joint venture partners
  • Manage the project(s) specific budgets and/or overhead costs using controlling methods (review of commitments, forecasting, actuals etc) whilst understanding the portfolio impact of changes.
  • Ensure internal controls are being adequately applied e.g. Delegation of Authority for investment spend, controls detailed in specific project shareholder agreements or local country specific procedures etc.
  • Review costs with the wider team on a regular basis to ensure forecasts, risks and opportunities are captured and managed appropriately and communicated to line management and project management teams.

Profile

  • Seniority and strong analytical skills with an ability to deal with complex transactions / commercial issues
  • Experience of leading projects/teams preferable
  • Experience working in a project environment on finance topics ie Accounting, Controlling
  • Proactive in managing multiple stakeholders and priorities
  • Understand the workings of SAP4Hana or other ERP systems and Excel (Procure to Pay processes, Timewriting tools, Actuals Reporting)
  • Knowledge of the basic renewables market structures and/ or large development/construction projects preferable with a strong desire to expand knowledge of this market.
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and global environment with an entrepreneurial attitude
  • Ability to manage relationships with a variety of stakeholders
