We are searching for an experienced Financial Controller / Head of Finance, who can take responsibility for the day to day running of the Finance Department, reporting to the Group Finance Director.

Our client have been established in Yorkshire for more than 25 years, and remain a British, family owned company. Turnover of the business is in excess of £100mil, with growth plans expected to reach over £150mil over the coming years.
Description
We are looking for a Head of Finance who will ultimately progress to become Group FD within 18-24 months, so you'll need to be ambitious, engaging, and keen to progress your own career. As Head of Finance, you will oversee a large Finance team. Strong people management skills are a must, as well as the ability to streamline processes and promote change.
You will need to be happy being hands-on when needed, as well as being able to work effectively with senior stakeholders across the organisation at MD and Head of Department level.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing the finance department
- Develop a high-performance Finance Team through team management, processes, and controls.
- Support the Management Accountant in reviewing and consolidating accounts for multiple group entities.
- Daily cash flow forecasting and future planning.
- Statutory reporting, responsible for meeting reporting deadlines, including HMRC, ONS, Companies House, Annual Audit and Pension Scheme reporting.
- Balance Sheet control accounts and review.
- Development of the team including moving skillsets forward and empowering individuals to take on more responsibilities.
- Deputising for and supporting the Finance Director
- Working with the Finance Director on ad hoc projects to support the continued growth of the company.
Profile
The ideal candidate has the following Qualifications / Skills:
- Holds a full Finance qualification (CIMA preferred however ACCA and ACA will also be considered)
- Experience at Financial Controller level (or above within a smaller business)
- Experience managing a team.
- Attention to detail.
- Self-motivated with ambition to progress.
- Strength of character and resilience to lead a function.
- Team player, energetic, with enthusiastic personality.
