Within the Finance department and reporting to the Head of Project & Fund Accounting, you’ll support Kew’s mission as a key member of this team, ensuring that Kew’s project managers and senior staff receive the support and financial information required in managing grant-funded research projects.

In this role, your responsibilities will include:

- Supporting all financial aspects of Kew’s varied portfolio of grant-funded research projects, providing knowledge and expertise on the preparation, submission, monitoring and reporting of grant-funded project budgets.

- Supporting on the provision of monthly management accounts, forecasting and budgeting for Kew’s Science Directorate, which has an annual budget of around £20m.

- Working collaboratively on funding proposals with colleagues across Kew, including within the Science and Foundation directorates, and liaising with external funding bodies as required.

- The critical review and monitoring of business cases, project budgets and forecasts.

With proven experience of funded project accounting, you will be part of a team of 4 delivering on the section’s objectives. You will have a track record of providing a professional and supportive interface with non-Finance colleagues across a diverse organisation. Knowledge of project accounting is essential.
