Role overview

The Audit Manager will be a crucial member of the audit group.  You will hold your own portfolio of clients reporting to the RI.  You will be responsible for servicing clients, directing all assurance services delivered and managing our people.

Job description

As an Audit Manager your typical daily duties will include:

  • You will work alongside the manager team delivering high quality audits in your portfolio to our clients.
  • You will be supported by the wider audit team to deliver the onsite work and will report into the RIs.
  • You will build relationships with the clients so that you are the “go-to” person and will manage their expectations, their audit and our team to deliver a high quality audit
  • You will lead, manage and develop the team and be a role model, being the point of reference for the audit team.
  • You will be completing file reviews utilising your existing technical knowledge and experience whilst developing your skills still further and ensuring quality standards are met.
  • You will be identifying and delivering added value service to the clients to help them prosper; identifying opportunities, understanding the client needs and their businesses.
  • Maintain and develop technical ability by attending training (including webinars), keeping abreast of technical development and being able to present your own research on technically challenging aspects
  • Act as a counselling manager and mentor to  help other team members achieve personal and professional development goals.
  • People management responsibilities covering resource planning and allocation, performance management, training and feedback.
  • Review and assess WIP regularly and address overruns as they occur.
  • Raise bills regularly and prompt the RI for interim billing when required.

Working arrangements

  • The working weeks is 37.5 hours (Monday to Friday). 
  • There is a hybrid arrangement in place with flexibility of hours to meet specific work demands as needed.

Person specification

  • ACA/ACCA (or international equivalent) qualified
  • Act with integrity at all times
  • Strong personal ethics
  • Supervisory and managerial experience
  • Be approachable to members of the audit team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Love developing internal and external relationships
  • Strong client facing skills
  • Be able to manage a varied portfolio effectively
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP, ISAs, IFRS would be advantageous
