This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual to work as an Accounts Manager within our Audit and Assurance Department. We are a busy department that has been growing due to new work being won.

As part of MGI Worldwide we have many clients that are part of international groups or where directors are not based in the UK. Interaction with clients involves contact by phone and email across many time zones.

As a firm we are driving towards improvement of our ESG position and we are just about to make the leap to paperless accounts files as one of our many steps on this journey and also to help improve our work efficiency. This is a project that will need support during the first year of transition which we would hope the successful candidate can take an active role in. We are also adopting other initiatives across the firm to take advantage of new technologies to keep the practice up to date and further improve our ESG position.

We view this as a progressive role that for the right candidate can lead to further opportunities within the firm for those that may wish to pursue this.

Your responsibilities and duties will include: –
• Reporting directly to the partners
• Working with the audit manager to manage the staff workflow and staff planner, allocating work and managing job completion
• Responsibility for the firms non-audit UK companies accounts clients including reviewing budgets and drafting annual invoices
• Managing time to meet filing deadlines and more importantly, client expectations
• Responsibility for the development of training staff in the audit and assurance department on accounts and corporation tax matters
• Responsibility for the review of accounts and corporation tax files in the portfolio, predominantly prepared under FRS102A
• Preparation of annual accounts may sometimes be necessary, but you would be encouraged to manage the team, so this is a rarity
• Contributing to the development of the department in its processes, efficiency, and technical changes
• Attending conferences in the UK and occasionally overseas as part of the MGI Worldwide network
• Attending networking events outside of your normal working hours to promote the firm and the work we do

Essential skills: -
• Experience with CCH software favourable although not essential
• Experience of working within practice at a level where you review other team members work
• Knowledge of FRS102 and FRS105
• ACA or ACCA qualified
