Financial Controller

Assistant Financial Accountant (Qualified) | Permanent | £60,000 - £65,000 | Swindon with 2-3 days WFH


Your new company
You'll be joining a recently restructured, friendly finance function within an established and growing consumer business in Swindon. The finance function has a friendly and collaborative culture, reflective of the wider business, but are looking to improve their inter-department stakeholder communication, particularly between finance and operational / commercial functions.

The business has excellent transport links and free onsite parking, as well as a hybrid working structure that would see this role in the office 3 times per week on average (Mondays and Tuesdays +1).

Your new role
As Assistant Financial Controller, you'll be supporting the Group Financial Controller in a hands-on people management role. As well as managing a largely transactional finance team in a mentoring / supervisory capacity, you'll take ownership of;

• Production of annual accounts
• Tax strategy and compliance
• Hedging administration
• Cash flow reporting

But you'll also have the opportunity to expand the role, improve processes, and add value by improving external and internal relationships.

What you'll need to succeed
Due to the senior nature of this position and key deliverables, you'll need to be a strong qualified (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) accountant with experience managing the production of statutory accounts, cash flow reporting, and stakeholder management. Transactional finance (direct or indirect) is desirable but not essential.

It's important that you're adept with Microsoft Excel too, with the ability to confidently use SUMIFs, VLOOKUPs, and Pivot Tables.
