HAYS are delighted to be partnering exclusively with one of our key Midlands-based clients to recruit for a Senior Financial Accountant on a permanent basis. My client are a PE-backed, £billion turnover organisation within the Retail industry. My client can not only offer a varied and exciting role, but also a fantastic environment for growth and development for the right candidate. The successful candidate will have good technical knowledge of IFRS, ideally within a larger organisation, and will be responsible for the reporting of my clients' consumer business, supporting in the delivery of a monthly group consolidation, and preparing accounts. Project work will also be a key element of this role.

This role will pay up to £55k per annum, and flexible working is on offer as well.

The key responsibilities of this role are:

• Month end- monthly close and reporting of £3 billion revenue consumer solutions business
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Provide support and advise on technical financial accounting
• Responsibility for delivery of key statutory accounts
• Business partner with the financial accounting team and wider finance department to deliver on key departmental and companywide projects
• Co-ordinating wider finance function in order to achieve timely and accurate delivery of accounts
• Actively identifies and drives improvements and efficiencies
• Main contact for external auditors for the audit
• Ownership of key SOX control processes

In order to be successful in this role you will:

• Be a qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA)
• Have good technical knowledge of IFRS
• Have controls testing experience
• Have experience in the production and/or audit of statutory accounts
• Have strong Excel skills (e.g. pivot tables, if statements, vlookups, macros)
