Exciting newly created position at a leading Doncaster based Engineering business.

Your new company
I'm pleased to be partnered with a leading Doncaster based Engineering/Logistics business with turnover in the region of £400m.
Following a period of continued growth, the business are pleased to be able to offer a newly created Finance Business Partner position working closely with the manufacturing and retail divisions of the business. As part of your role, you will take ownership of the analysis, reporting for management, forecasting and budgeting for both business areas, whilst also providing support towards business decisions and cost control effectiveness.

Your new role
This is a role with a strong profile within the organisation, providing a hands-on delivery into the role whilst reporting into a key member of the SLT. You will provide strong commercial acumen and strategic input to effectively partner with key members of the management team.

Duties within this role will include:

  • Responsible for the provisions of financial analysis in order to support with business decisions and effective cost control
  • Download and interrogate the monthly financials, including detailed variance analysis, delving into any variances to understand the root cause
  • Prepare and analyse revenue & profitability reporting by sector, flow and customer
  • Ensure costs are apportioned correctly
  • Develop great financial awareness and understanding within the sales and production management teams
  • Lead the delivery of the mid term planning process for the sales and support planning for production
  • Prepare narrative summary and describe trends, key features and risks in the month end reporting pack and commentary
  • Responsible for quarterly reforecasting, annual budgeting and 5 year plans
  • Developing a sound understanding of your sales and production areas so you can add real value
  • Support the Financial Controller and CFO with financial modelling, capex investment papers and ad-hoc projects
  • Continuous improvement projects including moving to monthly rolling forecasts, developing financial analysis and more robust cost allocation models


What you'll need to succeed
You will be a strong business partner with the following attributes and skillsets:

  • Qualified CIMA, ACCA or ACA Accountant or Qualified By Experience
  • Thrive in a fast paced, ever changing and dynamic environment
  • Strategic or Operational finance exposure, partnering the operations/sales to drive performance
  • Passion for adding value and doing a role where you can make a real difference
  • Highly analytical and continuous improvement mentality
