Based in the North West, you will be joining a highly successful and well-regarded accountancy practice. The wider business presents one of the fastest-growing firms of chartered accountants across the North West region.

The firm has a wide and varied client base with clients ranging from sub-audit threshold turnover clients to large corporate groups and international clients.

The firm has clear career development paths and appraisal systems in place to help people achieve their career goals. The role will offer the potential for involvement in complex advisory along with significant involvement in delivering wide-ranging tax planning and advisory projects across areas like international tax, capital allowances, R&D, due diligence and other tax planning.

Description

Tax Manager -

Managing the tax compliance function for our National Practice

Undertaking tax computation preparation and reviewing the work of other team members

Managing workflow nationally to ensure high standards are maintained and timescales are adhered to.

Assisting with developing junior team members and generally assisting with building a Corporation Tax team.

Assisting the Tax Partner in ensuring the technical aspects of the work of the department are up to date.

Assisting the Tax Advisory team in identifying project work and liaising with crucial stakeholders in the business to keep the flow of information between departments running.

Profile

Tax Manager

• ATT, CTA, ACA, or ACCA qualified
• Excellent tax person to support with advisory tasks and help develop a larger advisory function in the firm.
• Comfortable completing some more complex tax returns and supporting and helping the tax staff with technical queries on personal tax returns.
• Able to spot advisory opportunities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a good understanding of tax legislation.
• Would like the person to be a good number two Tax Director have excellent organisational skills and embrace new challenges.
• Someone with secure foundations in general accounting would be beneficial
