NEW: Financial Controller Opportunity - Colchester/Hybrid - £70,000 to £75,000 + Car Allowance Bonus & Bens

Your new company
We are very pleased to be working on an exclusive basis with a highly successful UK specialist manufacturing business, part of a international group, who due to continued business growth, investment & expansion in the UK business are looking to recruit an ambitious commercially focused "hands on" Financial Controller to lead finance and be part of the UK management team.

Your new role
The Financial Controller will report into the UK Director and functionally to the Group Chief Financial Officer; they will take ownership for UK finance, UK site business administration, help drive efficiency, the continuous development of processes, controls, reporting, ERP & BI systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • People management and development
  • Monthly management reporting for the business and into group
  • Statutory reporting 1 trading legal entity and 1 holding company, liaison with auditors and group
  • Financial reporting internally and within Group
  • Preparation of annual budgets and forecasts
  • Strategic business planning
  • Provide business partner support to stake holders, decision support, influence strategy and efficiency
  • Review and develop processes and controls
  • Review and develop IT/ERP systems
  • Management reporting and variance analysis
  • Working capital control and optimisation
  • Cash management, forecasting, reporting and optimisation
  • Transfer pricing
  • Point of contact with banks, auditors and other professional bodies
  • Monitor, maintain and improve existing stock control procedures in order to optimise site/business efficiency and performance
  • Cost accounting and reporting working to LEAN and Kaizen methodology
  • Maintenance and development of Sage 200 financial reporting system and Power BI
  • Actively maintain and develop the Production Bar Coding system
  • Financial evaluation of projects, capex reporting
  • Audit, Tax, Insurance & Legal Compliance
  • Review and develop processes and controls


What you'll need to succeed
The Financial Controller will have broad technical and commercial accounting experience including statutory reporting, tax, cost and stock accounting. They will have strong analytical and IT skills including ERP experience and Excel to an advanced level. They will be a confident communicator who enjoys working closely with stake holders to provide support and influence with budgeting, forecasting, efficiency and strategy. They will have strong organisational skills with the ability to produce high quality MI with analysis to UK business and group requirements.
