Tax Director (Trade and Customs) - Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Your key responsibilities

• Supports Partners in establishing and developing production relationships that bring in business

• Drives market profile through thought leadership, speaking, and public affairs

• Maintains and develops relationships with senior customs officials

• Maintains and manages relationships with other Trade & Customs member firms in the region

• Leads multiple engagements of varying size and complexity

• Advises clients on complex trade & customs matters

• Leads, coach, develops and enables career progression of team members

• Contributes to continuous improvement of in-house systems and procedures

   

   

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in relevant subjects, e.g. International Trade, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Law

• At least 8 years of relevant experience in either external and/or internal customs & tax function

• Competent and literate with the following packages: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

• Excellent technical knowledge of and experience in trade & customs advisory and compliance

• The ability to apply an understanding of financial statements and other relevant non-tax financial and business information to the tax advisory and compliance work

• Strong interpersonal

• A true leadership approach and previous experience mentoring trade & customs and tax managers

• Demonstrated strategic and innovative thinking skills with the ability to develop tailored solutions to address complex needs

• Good command of English and Vietnamese

Ideally, you would have strong organizational, time management, leadership and effective communication skills. We are also looking for someone who is self-motivated, has a high level of initiative, and is able to work and perform under pressure with tight deadlines.

You should have a proven track record in developing and maintaining relationships at various levels as well as strong interpersonal and influencing skills, and the ability to motivate and lead your team to achieve an outcome.
