Number 2 person in a £20m income higher education organisation. Broad role with opps to improve processes.

Your new company
A higher Education organisation offering courses in the creative space. The school offers undergraduate, postgraduate, research degrees and short courses. This organisation is very well respected and has an impressive alumni list. The organisation has a total income of approx. £20m including tuition fees, grants, investment income and so on.

Your new role
There are 5 people in finance and this role reports to the Head of Finance. The post manages a team of 4 who are responsible for transactional processing and credit control. Work will involve statutory reporting, returns, yearend, audit but will also be involved in budgeting and forecasting. Lots of work to be done around automating processes, utilising the system. Another goal will be to increase level of budget holder support as currently time does not allow much of that - budget holders will need support as many are creative rather than financial. Team will need to be strengthened- currently two interims in place. Working in a small team you will get the opportunity to be involved in carious committees and meetings to exec level. You will also get the opportunity to lead on projects such as those around systems improvement.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be a qualified accountant with experience of managing staff. Experience of working in a similar role within a small to medium sized organisation. Experience within the higher education sector is an advantage, whilst experience within the public sector or charity world will also be considered.
