My client is a UK-based manufacturing business based on the outskirts of Gloucester. Established in 1986 the team have grown a diverse and loyal customer base that includes some of the largest contractors in the UK.

The Role

You will be the lead Finance contact on site, working very closely with the Managing Director in supporting the commercial growth and direction of the business.

Key responsibilities include;

  • Oversee all company accounts.
  • Create monthly and annual reports to identify results, trends, and financial forecasts.
  • Manage cash flow by tracking transactions and regularly reviewing internal reports.
  • Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported.
  • Establish and implement financial reporting systems to comply with government regulations and legislation.
  • Responsibility for VAT andPAYE processing and returns.
    • Management of day-to-day accounting operations/team.
    • Manage Inventory/stock accounting.
    • Monitoring and reporting on accounting inconsistencies.
  • Collaborate with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations.
  • Develop budgets and financial plans for both companies based on research and data reports.
  • Review all financial plans and budgets regularly to look for cost reduction opportunities.
  • Suggest updates and improvements for all accounting systems.
  • Assist the MD in presenting reports to senior executives, stakeholders, and board members.

About you:

To undertake this role, you must be qualified (or Part-Qualified working towards completion of studies) CIMA or ACCA and have strong manufacturing and operational accounting experience.

In addition, you will:

  • Be a confident and collaborative Financial Controller with experience of working with a strong leadership team.
  • Have an Accounting Degree/Qualified Accountant.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Have management experience/leadership skills.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Must have an ability to engage at all levels within the business.
