Management Accountant

12 month fixed term contract 45k per annum with car allowance

You will be working for a large AIM listed construction PLC based in Leicestershire

Your new role

You will be working within the English Surfaces Division as a Management Accountant, you will have Full responsibility for the accounting of the English Surfacing division including all financial reporting, capex appraisals and financial support to the Operations Managers. Main Duties Include:-

• Full responsibility of the management accounts English & Wales Surfacing division
• Some balance sheet responsibility for English & Welsh Surfacing division
• Overseeing one assistant management accountant
• Responsible for the accounting of joint venture
• Responsible for England & Wales forecast and budget preparation
• Business partnering with the QS team and contracts managers
• Vat return submission via comply first time software
  • Provide ad-hoc commercial support to the business
    • To provide meaningful MI to support commercial decision making using financial modelling skills

What you'll need to succeed

You will be Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA or ACA) is essential as well as manufacturing accounts experience and must be able to demonstrate a high level of written and numerical literacy Key Relationships & Skills:

• It is essential that very good relations are established and maintained with the Regional Management Teams.

• Ability to perform adequately under pressure and/or opposition. Ability to make controlled responses in difficult situations.

• Delegation - Effective use of team experience and skills. Knowledge of when, how and whom to delegate. Effective allocation of decision-making and other responsibilities.

• Problem Analysis - Ability in identifying problems, seeking pertinent data, recognising important information, and identifying possible causes of problems.

• Judgment - Ability to evaluate data and course of action and to reach logical decisions. Unbiased, rational approach.

• Initiative - Actively influencing events rather than passively accepting; sees opportunities and acts on them. Originates action or ideas.
