Large privately owned business seek a hands on commercially minded FD

Your new company
Medium sized privately owned business with a deep history & track record are partnering with Hays on an exclusive basis to appoint their next Financial Director.

Your new role
As FD you will act as the key finance business partner to the Managing Director providing insight and advice to the Board's on the financial strategy, with the aim of optimising the company's financial performance and strategic position. You will support your Head of Finance and their wider team to ensure the finance function runs smoothly whilst acting as the lead with regards to any key projects such as M&A work or system enhancements. You will lead the annual budget process and present the annual results to the board and key shareholders alongside the typical duties associated with an end to end directorship role. You will be willing to visit other UK sites on an ad-hoc basis in line with business needs in order to engage key operational stakeholders.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be an experienced qualified accountant with a proven track record within a privately owned business with some degree of scale and complexity. You will demonstrate exceptional commercial judgement and an entrepreneurial spirit. Furthermore you will demonstrate excellent leadership skills and sound end to end financial judgement.
