Job Details

Varied part-time Management Accountant opportunity for a growing SME. This is a hands-on role, working closely with the Finance Director to continue developing the business's reporting, controls and systems. The hours worked can be spread over 3, 4 or 5 days, and there is flexible home working available.

Client Details

My client is a growing SME in the property sector, who have a strong pipeline of upcoming projects. They are a small and friendly team, who are looking to continue to improve and grow the business.


As Management Accountant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts and audit file
  • Draft board packs and monthly consolidated accounts
  • Monthly cashflow update
  • Prepare monthly consolidated P&L forecast
  • Preparation of annual budget
  • VAT returns
  • CIS returns
  • Input purchase invoices
  • Prepare monthly payment runs
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Assist during year end audit
  • Maintain corporate calendar and supply chain register
  • Maintenance and improvement of systems, controls and reporting
  • Ad hoc support to Finance Director


  • Qualified Accountant or equivalent (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Experience of preparing management accounts
  • Experience of preparing VAT returns
  • Ability and willingness to challenge existing processes
  • Knowledge of Xero (advantageous)

Job Offer

In return, the client is offering a competitive salary c£45k FTE (doe) + wider package including enhanced pension scheme, 25 days holiday (pro-rated) and family health insurance. This is a part-time role (c.24 hours a week), which can be worked over 3, 4 or 5 days as desired, with a mix of office and homeworking.
