The role

We are seeking Managers to join our UK Risk & Compliance Transformation Consulting Team, based in London and on client sites, with expertise in non-financial risk and controls, front to back capital markets, compliance and regulatory change across.

On a day-to-day basis, you'll deliver complex risk, controls and compliance related client engagements, primarily across the Front office and 2nd line functions . You will interact directly with client stakeholders, often owning specific deliverables on assignments, and Managers will have line management responsibility for junior team members. Your role will also include supporting internal proposition and thought leadership development on industry specific offerings, and supporting the sales process through proposal development.

Successful candidates must be able to demonstrate that they can manage multiple tasks on projects. They would also need to have the capacity to take on greater responsibilities as they develop within the firm. They should be of an intellectually curious mindset and interested in continually developing their professional and technical skills.  We would expect you to gain a broad range of experience before deciding whether to specialise in a specific area. Many projects give you the opportunity to work in multidisciplinary teams or with people from our network firms overseas.

Risk and Compliance transformation is an ongoing focus area for many of our clients, in particular understanding how best to exploit new digital technologies (such as transitioning to cloud and leveraging new AI/analytics capabilities) and take advantage of emerging leading practices to improve financial performance and gain competitive advantage.  Specifically this will include helping clients improve the effectiveness and efficiency of risk management across the enterprise, through advanced technology and data analytics, enabling process digitisation, capabilities transformation and managing the risks of pivoting to new digital and FinTech ecosystems. Compliance transformation is also a major area with a focus on E2E compliance, regulatory reporting and consumer duty. We are looking for people to join us who are excited by being at the cutting edge of transformational change in financial services and have relevant experience in one or more of these areas. 

Required experience

  • Work experience or strong knowledge of a number of risk & compliance areas:

    • Capital Markets organisations; how they are operate

    • ‘Front to back’ lifecycle, related processes and key operational pain points from a risk and compliance perspective

    • Non-Financial risk management (NFRM) experience with knowledge of relevant frameworks and processes in the 1st line (e.g. Supervision, Governance and MI etc) and 2nd line (NFR / ORM etc)

    • Knowledge and experience across transformation related work across NFR risk types e.g. Conduct, operational etc

    • Appreciation of technology and data related aspects across the front to back landscape 

    • Knowledge of the risk and compliance technology vendor landscape Business analysis

 

  • Relevant consulting / advisory experience in Banking and Capital Markets

  • Experience of change or transformation programmes within the Risk or compliance function of large FS firms would be a benefit

  • Knowledge and experience of regulatory change programmes (e.g. MiFid, Front Office Conduct and control transformation etc)

  • Experience or knowledge of digitisation / automation or innovation strategies / projects for risk & compliance management

  • Direct experience of working in a relevant role in industry would be a benefit.

  • Previous experience of working in a consulting environment, with involvement in project management and delivery – ensuring these are completed on time and within budget.

  • Previous experience overseeing seeing teams of 2-5 people

  • Experience producing reports, documentation, presentations etc

  • Have strong project and financial management skills

  • Previous experience communicating internally and with clients at all levels

  • Proven operational and delivery experience

  • Understanding how technology can be utilised within risk and compliance transformation

  • Have a logical and a learning mind-set, with the ability to demonstrate a structured approach to problem solving

  • Ambitious and self-motivated with the ability to work with limited supervision

  • Demonstrate that you stay abreast of industry and technology developments

  • Have the potential to develop strong people management, client handling and development skills, including interpersonal sensitivity and influencing skills

  • Have excellent technical, problem identification and analytical skills – with demonstrable experience in at least one of these areas
