Your new role
A Fixed Term Contract to cover maternity leave, for a key Group Finance Manager role. You will report to the Financial Director and have 2 direct reports. You will drive production of the Group and UK external financial reporting to the strict time tables required. Work with the Group's external auditor to deliver an efficient audit to timetable for the Group and its UK subsidiaries. Monitor compliance with external reporting requirements throughout the Group and work with the Group's overseas finance teams to ensure they meet local reporting and audit requirements, providing support where required. Produce technical papers where required, such as for Audit Committee request, changes in accounting standards or acquisition accounting. Review monthly balance sheet reconciliations to the Group's internal reporting timetable. Work with the Group's Internal Audit function to direct efforts and assist with completion of internal reviews. Manage direct reports, setting objectives aligned with functional goals and working together to ensure strong performance of the team.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be a fully qualified accountant, ideally practice trained with experience working as an auditor or technical accountant in a complex group. You will have excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise and meet deadlines ensuring continuing delivery of tasks to timetable. The ability to apply common sense in explaining technical accounting ideas to non-accountants. Strong IT skills including Microsoft Excel. Experience and/or knowledge of professional service businesses and/or listed businesses is desirable but not essential. You will also be a developer of people, recognising the benefits of coaching, mentoring and reviewing to facilitate team wide benefit and value. You will be available to start in the next few weeks and happy to commit to an 18 month contract.
