My client has just opened a brand new Southampton branch, and are looking for a transactional tax manager to aid with their ever-growing client base. With over 100 years of Accountancy experience, the firm are still growing, providing a great platform for the perfect candidate to develop their career.
Description
Corporate team members will be expected to work across a range of advisory work, supporting directors and partners in delivering projects. Expectations of level of responsibility for the transactional tax manager would include the following:
- Scoping and costing new projects
- Preparing risk assessments to identify key tax issues to be considered
- Liaising directly with clients and engagement teams to understand and document legal, accounting and commercial background to engagements
- Drafting and reviewing tax advice
- Seeking clearances and advance assurance from HMRC
- Reviewing transaction documents for consistency with tax advice given
- Reviewing tax deeds and warranties in transaction documents
- Reviewing target company information and preparing transaction due diligence reports
- Preparing and reviewing complex corporation tax returns
- Liaising with non-UK firms in the PKF network to obtain input on international tax projects and preparing advice on the impact of UK and non-UK taxes
- Review tax work and smaller assignments undertaken by general practice staff, providing coaching (where necessary) and addressing outstanding issues
Profile
The successful Transactional Tax Manager:
- Experience of tax with a focus on company and shareholder taxation, structuring and transactions
- Excellent technical tax knowledge
- CTA and / or ACA / ACCA / qualified
- Experience of working within practice, with the competence to deal with managing a portfolio of clients and assignments
- Excellent interpersonal skills - able to deal with people at all levels
- Strong analytical skills and an eye for detail
- Strong coaching skills and ability to provide timely feedback
- Self-motivated and able to show initiative
- Accurate and able to work well under pressure
- Good problem-solving skills
