With clients ranging from multinational organisations and public sector bodies to entrepreneurs and family businesses, the work we do is diverse.


A career in our Financial Services Tax practice, within Private Client Tax, will provide you with the opportunity to help our clients meet their tax obligations while managing the impact tax has on their cross jurisdictional affairs. You’ll advise clients on their US and UK tax affairs, while acting as a trusted advisor feeding in on any tax consideration to be had when making financial decisions. You’ll also help individuals understand where the primary right to tax lies in different scenarios, as well as providing advice on tax implications of movement of funds. Our team helps our private clients navigate the frequently changing and complex landscape of having exposure to both US and UK taxation, and manage the international tax environment related to stringent reporting requirements. You’ll help our clients with their tax structuring while helping to address the challenges of the continuously changing tax world, both where they are resident and where their citizenship lies.

As a Senior Associate, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. PwC Professional skills and responsibilities for this level include but are not limited to:

     marketplace

·    Gather information from a range of sources when analysing and solving

     complex problems

·    Contribute to client account planning

·    Test my own and others’ work for quality, accuracy and relevance

·    Draw on the firm’s subject matter experts to support my work  facilitate collaboration across virtual  teams (utilising appropriate technologies

     when necessary)

·    Communicate with my clients, regularly  updating them and sharing progress

·    Communicate confidently in a clear, concise  and articulate manner – verbally and in written form

In your day to day role you’ll have the opportunity to:

Act as go-to contact with the client, responding to issues and questions.

Communicate with colleagues on when they can expect to receive back work and effectively project manage compliance and consulting tasks. 

Lead catch ups with colleagues to run through clients. Commit to dates by which projects will progress

Set and discuss realistic timelines when delegating work - when is it needed to be done by? What is the consequence (if any) of it being later than this?

Explain relevant client positions and reconciling notices or letters

Complete initial reviews of complex US and UK tax returns

Ensuring information from the client, all relevant emails and financial documents are saved, referenced and reported correctly

Ensure calculations and reporting clearly demonstrate thought process proactively flag anything that needs further attention from the M/SM. Noting and explaining a client's ultimate position. Research, make and propose decisions on how things will be reported and explain reasoning.

Assist in training, be this through supporting on a training sessions or identifying topics/areas that the team need training on 

Review proposed bills 

Proactively helping colleagues to promote healthy work environment

Take a role in the team outside of client work - e.g. assisting with overall training program, working on technology for the team, helping with season kick off, BD for team in terms of raising profile internally and externally

Key Skills and Experience

  • Both UK and US Tax Knowledge

  • Experience of working with Private Clients  

  • You will need to have either ACA/CTA or ATT qualification

  • Enrolled Agency qualification would be beneficial but not essential
