Due to the ongoing success within the business, a high calibre Financial Controller is now required to support the Director of Finance with all aspects of commercial decision making.
Description
Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Financial Controller will have ownership of the core finance team and associated responsibilities including:
- Lead and coach the core accounting team with both qualified and part-qualified accountants in their day-to-day core activities.
- Take ownership of the financial control environment ensuring reporting is robust, accurate and in-line with reporting standards.
- Ensure consistency and accuracy of data across the wider business.
- Prepare and present the monthly management accounts.
- Play a leading role in the audit process and implementing recommendations from external auditors.
- Manage day to day tax matters (import duty, VAT, rates, Temporary Admissions, corporation tax, etc.)
- Help lead the transformation of finance into a modern, highly skilled, system and data led team.
- Help deliver project to upgrade all our systems / processes and to combine the two companies into one
Profile
The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant (ACA/ ACCA), ideally having trained with a top tier accountancy firm.
- Previous experience of leading and developing a finance team
- Be an excellent communicator - able to flex your style accordingly
- Strong commercial awareness - able to understand the longer-term impact of business decisions
- Influencing abilities - both within the business and also with other stakeholders
