We help to measure, protect and enhance the things that matter most to them.

About the Team

Technology, Data & Analytics is the largest single group of technologists within PwC, with 450 people working across the UK. We innovate, working with our clients to develop new tools and ways of working that deliver sustained outcomes. We work with prestigious clients including FTSE100 companies, mid market clients and government agencies. We offer a varied range of experiences, a supportive team and an exciting career working in technology, data and analytics.

The Role

  • A Data Migration Senior Manager will be accountable for the high quality and timely delivery of data migrations as part of transformation and system implementation programmes. This incorporates the creation and maintenance of a data migration strategy and plan, and management of the data migration team (onshore and offshore) to ensure the complete and accurate migration of data across programme timelines. The following key activities form a core part of the role leading teams around data migration:

  • Work with legacy application and database technical subject matter experts to analyse and assess the quality and readiness of legacy data to be migrated.

  • Understand how the data is used within the target platform and across the enterprise application landscape to assess and manage the implications for data migration both from a technology and a business perspective.

  • Coordinate between programme workstream leads to ensure data migration risks, issues and dependencies are proactively managed.

  • Provide regular status updates to programme management and the engagement leader.

  • Oversee and manage onshore and offshore teams to ensure the effective definition and configuration of data migration tooling (leveraging PwC’s Data Migration Suite).

  • Act as a point of escalation for issues associated with data during the design, build and test phases of the wider programme, as well as during cutover and hypercare.

The Essentials

  • Experience working in data workstreams where migration and MDM delivery have been core components is essential.

  • Proven experience of leading the design, planning, management and delivery of large- scale data migration projects, including the data cleansing, ETL process, reconciliation and final client acceptance

  • Knowledge of the Azure ecosystem, SQL Databases, and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau etc.) will be an added advantage

  • Strong documentation and communication skills with senior stakeholders.

  • Good understanding of data management principles.

  • Ability to analyse and understand complex data.

  • Ability to identify, clarify, and appropriately resolve, or escalate issues and risks.

  • Proven experience of leading onshore and offshore teams.

  • Experience with ‘data migration’ programmes or master data management and not just technology or software implementations.

  • Knowledge of MDM tooling and experience in delivering associated programmes will be an added advantage.

  • Reference in CV to ability to lead project or programme teams
