The Role

Indirect Tax Edge is PwC’s global Indirect Tax Compliance solution. It has been developed over many years and this role is an opportunity to work as part of the multidisciplinary team that continues to develop this tax technology through the product development lifecycle (ideation to piloting / roll-out).

Join our global product team, working alongside both tax specialists and the technologists within our in-house development team.

This is an extremely exciting, fast-paced and incredibly varied role which will put you at the forefront of delivering PwC’s next generation of tax and analytics technology solutions.

The role would report to the product manager and enable you to develop your network through the interaction with a number of different stakeholders, such as indirect tax compliance teams within different member firms, global stakeholders of the global product, software developers and global implementation teams, as well as territory representatives.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities of the role:

• Design and development of functional and nonfunctional requirements to meet business requirements

• Day-to-day management of other Product Specialist team members

• Working with colleagues and stakeholders to ensure alignment and suitability of requirements

• Working with territory and engagement teams to develop and validate requirements

• Developing materials and supporting the testing of the application ready for  use

• Assisting in the delivery of pilot, complex and /or strategic client implementation projects

• Supporting the roll-out of the product and providing training and communications to other support teams, implementation teams, site administrators and users of the product.

Essential skills and experience

You are a tax technologist who:

• Is hands-on, self-starting, a quick learner, a problem solver

• Comes from a Tax background, or related field

• Has experience using technology solutions, preferably  to deliver tax or finance services and solve tax or finance problems

• Has good written and oral communication skills (English)

• Has good project management skills 

• Is able to work under own initiative and adjust to a changing environment or fluid deadlines

• Has a strong customer-focused mindset

• Has experience using standard software products, such as Google Sheets / Excel, Google Docs / Word and Google Slides / Powerpoint or other similar products

• Has experience of managing competing priorities and time management

• Has experience managing a team
   

The following skills are not essential but could support a successful application:

• Experience designing technology solutions, preferably to deliver tax or finance services and solve tax or finance problems

• Experience using Jira and Service Now

• Advanced spreadsheet skills, such as developing complicated models and/or using scripts for simple automation tasks

• Data analysis experience, such as manipulating structured or unstructured data using Alteryx or other data manipulation tools

• Experience with writing or adapting computer programmes or using other automation tools e.g. writing scripts, VBA, Java or RPA software 

• Familiarity with using and interpreting structured file formats such as csv and json
