Hays Senior Finance are delighted to be exclusively supporting an excellent SME manufacturing business in the Worcestershire area as they look to appoint an Assistant Finance Manager on a permanent basis.

Our long-standing client are part of a larger Group who are listed on the London Stock Exchange and recognised as a world leader in their field.

Your new role
In this newly created position, you will report directly into the Financial Shared Services Centre Manager and be required to support the wider finance team across a range of areas.

Main duties:

  • Monitoring the credit risk held in the UK and reporting on changes
  • Weekly checking and processing of expense claims and liaising with colleagues to ensure the timely payment of expenses
  • Full month-end reporting and supporting the preparation of year-end statutory accounts
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Inputting treasury and other ad hoc payments into the bank and sending for approval
  • Reconciliation of PAYE and NI returns
  • Calculation of Head Office recharges
  • Preparation of VAT returns
  • Support and provide cover for global intercompany monthly payment process
  • Payroll support and ownership

What you'll need to succeed

  • AAT qualified with a willingness to pursue further qualifications (ACCA/CIMA) - QBE candidates will be considered providing relevant experience can be demonstrated
  • Strong accounting background with an understanding of key day-to-day financial activities
  • Self-motivated with the ability to think outside the box and drive change
  • Excellent communication skills and the confidence to deal with people at all levels
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Understanding of IFS or a similar ERP system (desirable)

Hybrid working is also on offer with the opportunity to WFH 2 days per week.
